This creamy, sweet coffee hails from the farm of Pedro Flores, located in the Villa Rosario community near La Paz, Bolivia. The cup spotlights notes of milk chocolate, caramel and marshmallow egg. We've found Bolivian coffees to be incredibly smooth and pleasant to drink, and this one really lives up to that reputation. It's reminiscent of a Cadbury Easter egg: smooth, sweet and creamy. The well-rounded body and sweetness make this a fantastic everyday coffee, as well as a lovely, balanced espresso.
Don Pedro Flores, age 66, has been a coffee producer all his life. He and his wife, Bonifacia Mamani, have 5 children. Their farm has 2 hectares of coffee, but is 10 hectares in total size. They also grow citrus (orange, mandarine, lemon, papaya), and the rest of the land is wild. During the harvest all the family help picking the coffee, and at night they deliver the cherries to the Agricafe wet mill, where they carefully process all the coffee.
Bolivia is a new, exciting origin for us, and we are enthusiastic about the potential of amazing specialty coffee. Our goal is to develop more long term relationships with small producers through our partners at Agricafe. A family-run Bolivian mill and specialty coffee exporter, Agricafe works with small producers in the Caranavi region.
