This is our second year partnering with producer Marzo Munoz and his family. Marzo runs the farm with the help of his sons and grandson. His father emigrated from a place called Colinas to the region of Santa Barbara, and began working from scratch, planting coffee in a small area, since the price of land was cheap.
When asked what motivates him to continue in coffee farming, Marzo says, "I always helped with the activities of the farm growing up, and that made me fall in love with this world of farms and forests. I have depended on coffee all my life, it's something I inherited from my father. I started to work hard to make productive farm; thanks to the coffee I managed to make my house and give my children and education. I have spent very difficult times, but now have access to a good market and that my coffee is valued for its quality represents for me a great joy and motivates me to continue working."
His hard work has yielded impressive results; strawberry, cherry and toffee are the main flavor notes of this balanced coffee. The mouthfeel is jammy and rich, with a syrupy body. This coffee shines as drip, but also makes an amazing caramel and fruit laden espresso.
